Investigator & Human Rights Lawyer
Brenda Culbert is an investigator and human rights lawyer with over 20 years of legal experience. She is knowledgeable and results-oriented and has experience conducting efficient and thorough investigations into a range of issues including harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and policy violations in both workplace and service areas.
Brenda's work as an external investigator is informed by her comprehensive litigation experience. Previously Brenda spent eleven years as Senior Counsel at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre where she gained extensive experience and expertise litigating a wide range of human rights issues and complex matters including harassment based on sex, disability, gender identity and race, sexual harassment, and discrimination.
Prior to launching her investigation practice, Brenda worked as a human rights investigator in the education sector.
Brenda holds a certificate from the Association of Workplace Investigators, the only accredited workplace investigations program in North America. She is a member of the Investigations Unit for the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner.
